Scent of the Week – Diptyque Eau Duelle

Very rarely do I wear the same scent on consecutive days. I’m spoiled for choice. However, this week (4 days in a row and counting), I’ve turned to Diptyque’s wonderful vanilla fragrance, Eau Duelle, for my scent of choice. It is available in both EDT and EDP forms. I own the EDT, which is an easy-to-wear spicy, aromatic vanilla. It has a slight smoky touch from incense, and during its middle phases, a tea note adds additional contrast. Although the vanilla note dominates, it is sheer and never strays into overly sweet cupcake territory, making it a surprising but fitting choice for summertime. The focus of the EDP is more towards the gourmand facets with a pronounced boozier, spicier vanilla note to the fore.
