Happy World Pinocchio Day! Here’s a top 10 list for you to mull over.
- I love the smell of Calone in the morning.
- That new Clive Christian was an absolute bargain. I reckon I’d have paid double the retail price.
- A high silk hat and a silver cane, a dash of lime, some petitgrain. I love it when niche brands focus more on their stories and marketing than on their perfumes.
- Jean Paul Gaultier Divine for Women. Indeed!!!!
- Nothing about this new niche brand seems pretentious. And why are they launching with only 15 perfumes? Surely, it would take at least 16 perfumes to capture the aftermath of a thunderstorm over the Palace of Versailles in 1800. And yes, it was Napoleon’s signature scent.
- When you get in trouble and you don’t know right from wrong, TikTok is an absolute treasure trove of knowledge. Today I’m learning all about maceration.
- I want to smell like a dentist’s office. When you wish upon a star, Ganymede will take me far.
- It’s only February, but Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee, no more perfumes this year for me.
- I’ve got no strings, but I promise this Creed was worn by kings.
- Top 10’s are lies. I mean life.
And what top 10 would be complete without a couple of honourable mentions?
11. Pauly Shore was some awkward casting, but this Jo Malone was pretty long-lasting.
12. Designers in my dream, but this flankers too extreme.

Love this! Honorable mentions hahahah perfect!
Haha. Thanks very much, Tetê. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Hahaha! Very nice. Glad #8 is a lie, though!
Haha. That may be the biggest lie of all!
Since I am not a Disney follower in either my childhood or adult life, I had no idea World Pinocchio Day even existed. You learn something new every day. Thanks, Daniel! I may be able to make #8 a reality this year. #2 is a given.
Me either, Flaconneur. But, I opened my computer screen and it alerted me to the fact in my calendar. Apparently today (24 Feb) is National Tortilla Chip Day in the US. That will be a great effort if you can make #8 a reality, Flaconneur. I wish you luck with it!
Love this! Bravo Daniel! Brilliant!! Right then, I’m heading straight back to tikitytokity to learn all about layering!
Haha. Thanks, Marcus! Good luck with the layering lesson. #perfumetok #complimentmagnet
Such a hilarious read! Much needed on this Thursday morning, dear Daniel. We’ve seen these all at some time or another. Could make up quite a few on raw materials and eco-washing too.
Thanks very much, Rich. Glad you enjoyed it. Those subjects are indeed ripe for the picking.
