My weekend scent is Cyber Garden from avant-garde Italian fashion house Costume National. Even though they’re a designer, their scents are anything but mainstream. For Cyber Garden, Antoine Lie borrows from the past, and perhaps through a little creative marketing from the brand (a supposed vinyl note), they create the slightly left-of-centre Cyber Garden.
The fragrance opens up fresh with green notes, bergamot, and grapefruit. The zingy top fades and gradually gives way to a heart featuring the vinyl note, violet leaf, and geranium. At this point, the fragrance reminds me of mossy fougere fragrances of the past, and perhaps, the violet leaf in the heart ever so slightly brings to mind things like Dior’s Fahrenheit. A plastic, synthetic-like green accord that runs through Cyber Garden reminds me of vinyl. Certainly, this isn’t a natural garden. It feels more like a garden that aliens or cyborgs created. If you’re a fan of Fahrenheit or Dune from Dior and APSU from Ulrich Lang, you’ll enjoy a spritz or two of this garden.
And while I’m on the subject of gardens, with the weather set fair for the weekend, I decided to go for an excursion around a few parks and gardens. Here are a few of the photos I took.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
