Summer Fun – Roma Street Parkland

The period between Christmas and new year wasn’t the best for me, as I contracted COVID. Fortunately, after a few days to a week, I was back to 100 percent. I dislike being stuck inside, so I was eager to get outdoors again. It’s always good for well-being to be out in nature. So, a few days into 2023, freedom returned, and I visited the Roma Street Parklands. I would liken these parklands to a magical fairy garden or oasis close to the heart of Brisbane. Here are a few photos I took on my day out to this must-visit place if you’re ever in the city.

The first guy I came across when I hopped off the train at the parklands! He seems to be enjoying his summer.
Banksia.
The wildlife was plentiful. Especially these guys. He was making himself at home.

As my nose had seemingly recovered, I decided to spray on perfume. My choice was California Reverie from Van Cleef & Arpels. I reviewed it before on my blog, and its beautiful combination of jasmine, neroli, and frangipani feels suitably tropical and fresh for a day out. In addition, the beeswax and vanilla in the base of the scent give the perfume some staying power – an excellent freshie.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everybody!

  1. Never fun to be sick – glad you made a quick recovery. Gorgeous photos and amazing plant and animal life! I got to visit Brisbane briefly many years ago and remember seeing those same kind of iguanas (?) abundant in the Lone Pine Sanctuary. They cheered me up!

    1. Thank you very much! Yes, they’re water dragons and are quite similar to an iguana. I need to visit the Lone Pine Sanctuary again, I love it there.
