I love boozy scents. Rum, champagne, whiskey, gin I don’t discriminate, love them all. Over the next month I’ll take you through some of my favourite boozy scents. Today it is whiskey.
WHISKEY

Mugler A*Men – Pure Malt – Composed in 2009 in honour of traditional Scottish whiskey, Pure Malt is the original A*Men DNA soaked in oak whiskey barrels, caramel malt with fruity accents, vanilla, coffee and patchouli. One of my favourite flankers from the A*Men series.

Nasomatto – Baraonda – A loud, boozy scent that features the note of whiskey on a woody base, and a distinct rose note, that combined with ambrette gives it a sweet and seductive feel. It’s almost good enough to drink. Definitely one to wear on cooler days, 2 sprays max. It lasts forever on skin. This is too much for warm weather.

Atkinsons – 24 Old Bond Street – Black tea is the predominant note in this 2013 release from British brand Atkinsons. Whiskey is in the background and combines with a juniper note for a fragrance that is the perfect accessory for the well-groomed gentleman. One to wear with a crisp white shirt.

Sarah Baker – Tartan – Beautiful scent from Sarah Baker that doesn’t list a whiskey note but certainly gives the vibe of booze. A woody, boozy scent with a bread note that gives it a nutty wheat like impression.

Jo Malone Whiskey and Cedarwood – Exactly what it says on the bottle, whiskey and cedarwood but with a peppery pimento note.

Jovoy Paris – Pavillon Rouge – Tobacco dominant, but certainly whiskey, leather, rum and vanilla provide a supporting role. Well-blended and classy from a very consistent niche house. Leans masculine.

Carolina Herrera – CH Men Prive – Back to the designer world for the boozy , sweet leather, whiskey and tonka scent perfect for a night out. One to wear with a leather jacket.

By Kilian – Single Malt – No whiskey note but wheat, vanilla, plum and cedar combine to give this a whiskey and oak barrel feel. The plum adds a fruity touch, and although it’s not listed, I detect some smokiness maybe from a tobacco note. Tolu balsam in the base gives it an amber – caramel dry down that lingers for hours.

Lubin – Korrigan – Creamy whiskey and cognac over leather and musk mallow. It has a vanillic, caramel woody dry down that makes this one hard to beat. Lingers on skin all day. A fragrance for a night out and special occasions.

Imaginary Authors – Saint Julep – This is the boozy mint, sugar sweet, tangerine citrus, whiskey scent that can be worn in the warmer months. To be honest it has more of a mojito feel to it. Very refreshing with a slight burnt sugar vibe, that unfortunately doesn’t last on my skin. I get 1-2 hours before it becomes a skin scent. Still a good one though.
