Dolce and Gabbana K – K is Dolce and Gabbana’s new fragrance to go up against the likes of Savage and Dylan Blue. The hideous monstrosity of a bottle should have warned me to stay clear, but I had to try it, and sure enough the juice is a fairly run of the mill men’s designer scent we’ve encountered many times over. Opens with synthetic citruses eventually drying down to a woody base that fails to rise above the crowd. Lasted 8 hours on skin.
Bvlgari Man Wood Neroli – A much better release than Wood Essence. Having said that, it fails to excite. To my nose a decent combination of Mugler Cologne and Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. Staying power on skin was non-existent. It was gone in a couple of hours.
Guerlain Ginger Piccante – This one is a little disappointing, as the ginger is muted to my nose. I detect the ginger, but for whatever reason the rose and citruses dominate on my skin. Well done but not what I was expecting. Coconut Fizz is the best of the new Aqua Allegoria Range. It became a skin scent after a couple of hours.
Issey Miyake L’eau d’Issey Rose and Rose – Sweet rose with raspberry and pear. The raspberry eventually dominates, and it becomes cloyingly sweet. Some similarities to Chloe Roses. One for the sweet tooth. Long lasting at over 8 hours, but a formula we’ve seen before.
Trussardi Riflesso Blue Vibe – Quite a well-done scent here from Trussardi. I don’t pick up any similarities to the “Blue Trend”, rather Blue Vibe is sweeter and boozier with rum and hazelnut dominating. Having said that, the opening is much more interesting than the woody dry down. Moderate longevity at 6 hours on skin. One that I may come back to though.
