Good Sports

Plenty of sporting events going on around the world at the moment. Women’s World Cup Soccer underway, along with Wimbledon Tennis. Those in the Commonwealth may be watching the Cricket World Cup. So, I thought I’d list a few of my favourite sports fragrances to wear while cheering on our teams and atheletes.

Dior Homme Sport 2008 is a sports fragrance that has its contract extended season after season. Lemon, ginger and grapefruit combine to create an MVP candidate. A fragrance that’s good enough to get through any draw, all the way to a grand slam final, and when all is said and done, defeat all the competition and hold the trophy aloft. Dare I say it, Dior Homme Sport 2008 is The Federer of Sports Fragrances.

Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne – No red cards in sight with this sports fragrance. In a genre filled with fouls, Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne is a podium finisher. A pretty simple game plan of citruses, elemi and white musk make it an easy everyday wear and a perfect gym companion. Go heavy on the sprays though, as this competitor is more of a sprinter than a marathon runner. Another classy one from the Chanel stables.

Lalique Encre Noire Sport – Punches well above its weight, as a sports fragrance. Retains the original Encre Noire DNA with a citrus twist. Think of it as more of an all-rounder. This is a multi-disciplinary event competitor than can be used in many situations. Encre Noire Sport is the versatile decathlete of the sporting genre.

Armani Code Sport Athlete – A now retired competitor, but this citrus, mint and ginger fragrance was an underrated opponent. Wearing this, was like a cooling glass of fizzy soda after a long hard day on the field. A real dark horse.

Ralph Lauren Polo Sport – A veteran of the game, Polo Sport, a minty gem that can still match it with today’s crowd. Over the years, its seen of many challenges and still manages to come out on top. They don’t make them like they used to.

There you have it, five of the best, and although these are all marketed towards men they can easily be worn by women. What are your favourite sports fragrances?
